About Me
I am the publisher of EVERYBODY’S, the Caribbean American Magazine, and a recipient of a National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Award for my coverage of the deaths of Dr. Eric Williams who led Trinidad into independence and reggae icon Bob Marley.
My career has included accompanying President Ronald Reagan to Jamaica and Barbados as part of the White House Press, and covering the inaugurations of President Barack Obama. I have reported on significant Caribbean milestones, from the independence of Antigua and Barbuda to the invasion of Grenada, and have served as a commentator on WLIB and WBLS Radio in New York City.
To commemorate the bicentennial of the U.S. (1776-1976), I wrote a booklet, “200 Years of West Indian-American Contributions.” Back in 1976, few Caribbean nationals were aware that a Founding Father of the U.S. was West Indian or Caribbean. Many teachers and lecturers in high schools and colleges in New York used “200 Years of West Indian-American Contributions” in their classes.
I have authored several books, including "Belvidere Estate, Fédon’s House" (2016), "Julien Fédon, Revolutionary, Patriot and Insurrectionist" (2022), and "From Founding Father Alexander Hamilton to Vice President Kamala Harris" (2026).
Looking ahead to 2027, I will be releasing "Volume II: From Founding Father Alexander Hamilton to Vice President Kamala Harris" and a novel titled "The Island Queen." The latter is a fictional account of the mysterious 1944 disappearance of the vessel between Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
I also take great pride in my Caribbean roots and as a Grenadian American. During the early 1970s, I was an organizer of Brooklyn’s West Indian Carnival. I am also associated with the Mother’s Day Calypso concerts at Madison Square Garden held during the 1980s. I have produced calypso and reggae concerts at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, Town Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Prudential Center in Boston and Newark, Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts, Cramton Auditorium, Washington, D.C. And, between 1990 and 2019, I promoted Oliver Samuels plays in NY, NJ, MA, CT, PA, MD and DC.
